All human, but different!
Out walking with my dog this morning and I was looking at the different trees and plants. Now that autumn is well and truly here some of the leaves are changing colour and some have already fallen off and are crispy underfoot.
There are some trees of the same variety where the leaves are still green and still attached to the branches. Some plants show no signs of withering or changing colour at all. It got me thinking all the plants and trees, even though their roots are embedded in the ground, drink water, produce carbon dioxide and grow and spread out into these beautiful specimens, they are all different even if they are the same plant variety.
There are subtle differences in them all, be it where they are planted, how close they are to natural water courses, how much sunlight they get and what they are growing next to. Why do some plants stay evergreen, why do some leaves turn shades of orange and yellow and why do some leaves just wither and drop off?
It got me thinking humans are very similar, we are all born created the same way and come into the world in a similar fashion, but what we eat, what we drink, where we are located in the world, culture and what we are influenced by and our surroundings, they all play their part in our make up and no two people have had the same experiences in life - even siblings bought up in the same household.
Our attitude to change can also be impacted by our differences in experiences, maybe our experience of making change has always been painful or complicated or it could be that we have always had an easy time with making change and have no fears about it.
There is no normal everyone is an individual with different opinions and ideas and it follows that there is no normal way to deal with change.
We all do it our way - or not at all!
